Established in 1968, the OCS Advisory Board ("OCSAB") is a non-profit organization that focuses on Outer Continental Shelf issues related to oil and gas exploration, development, and production.  The OCSAB serves in an advisory communication and support role to the MMS (Regional and National offices); serves as a forum for networking and sharing of information; provides leadership and expertise on access issues; provides opportunities for education; provides leadership, oversight, and development of the Operating Agreements, Production Handling Agreements, and other agreements which impact operations in the OCS; and works in a liaison role with other industry and professional organizations (NOIA, API, IPAA, OOC, AAPG, SEG, SPE, etc.)

"The Outer Continental Shelf Advisory Board recently made a contribution to the Offshore Energy Center, which sustained damages from Hurricane Ike. Established in 1988 in Galveston, Texas, the OEC is dedicated to expanding the awareness of the vast resources beneath the world’s oceans. It serves as an education outreach, a museum and a hall of fame for the offshore industry."
